MIA for the Holiday

I am slightly MIA for this Holiday.
Why? Well, Some of you may know. This time last year... I was at the hospital receiving the best Holiday gift God offers.
My precious Daughter! She will be ONE this Saturday. And I will be 29 on Sunday. Oh yeah, and there is Thanksgiving!!! So we are busy busy.

Verve Holiday Parade Project: Stamped Candle and Glass Votives

Many have asked how I do the glass etching. I do not use the creme stuff. I use the EK success tool. This can be purchased at Michael's.

I stamp what I want on a piece of paper and tape it to the inside of the glass.
Then I trace over it with the diamond tipped tool. When I have finished. I wash it off.

I do not stay faithful to one company. Yet, I love them all.
They each get a portion of my money every month... til it is all gone.
Yes, TRUE, I do stick to a few faves. Paper Makeup Stamps is owned by my BFF. And I am slightly addicted to The Greeting Farm stamps. Truth be told, I probably have every single stamp made by these two awesome chicks, minus four or five. Literally. NO lie.

I am going to play a little game with myself. To get myself to use all of these stamps I have - calling out to me. Love me, Ink me - USE me.

Well, I would like to say that I have been an absentee blogger because my life is so busy and fulfilling ... The truth? I think I may have caught the flu. Yah My luck. I am
Pretty sure that my immune system is SO low that it may not actually exist. 'I look forward to catching any cold that winks at me, and I am sure if the Bacon flu comes my way - I will catch that too.
Ah well. I didn't bother with going to the Doctor. Poor guy... he just feels bad for me... I am not even sure what meds he would give me. So what is the point.
poop... that is my 10 month olds newest word. It fits.

I have done but only one project these past weeks. It was fun. It is a mini copic journal...
It was something I did not have to get out of my seat for.

September Magnolia-licious Challenge - Boo Boo File

Boo-Boo File!!!


The Challenge for this month over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog is to make a cute little file folder out of envelopes. I will not lie, I made like 30. Hahahha. And I showed everyone I knew how cute they were.
I made this one for my son. It is a Boo-Boo File.
The inserts have a band-aid for when he gets hurt and a cute little monster to color to make him feel better.

These are the inserts, each with a different monster to color and band-aid for the boo-boo!

This is the file open with the inserted inside. It has a magnetic closure.

Second. My Boy, he is 5... has narrowed down his possible career paths. He informed me he still had time to choose, but that his top choices are ROCKSTAR, RACE CAR DRIVER or Engineer(his fall back, and his Dad's profession).

He has decided he will probably join the Black Eyed Peas. They Rock. At least he is choosing a 'band' that is successful I suppose.

I made this for him. He is a good boy, and I know he will like it. He loves green by the way!

Copic Creations Challenge #11

My picture is terrible I will put up a new one in the daylight! But this is my copic creation Challenge #11.

I LOVE the images at Mo's Digital Pencil. And the Bo Bunny Christmas paper :)
They are flippin amazing. I downloaded this one today, and I had to color it asap. My Grandma is going to LOVE it. I just know.

a few of my favorite things.

Lately I have been asked by more than a few people where I get certain things... and they are always a few of my favorite things, so I am happy to share.

I am a very conservative yet semi-hippiechic kinda girl. I have two kids, and I am not real interested in being a stiletto mom. My clothes are soft, versatile, often organic. I LOVE 'crafted' clothing and jewelry.

I like to goof around often. Here we are at Arts, Beats & Eats in Pontiac, Michigan over Labor Day Weekend, wearing hats from Webhats... and glasses from who knows where. But my son and I LOVE funny hats. (I am the pizza)




I also discovered that I LOVE the designs here at ellembee.
I will be wearing more of these this year.
I can already see myself in a few more shirts.









You may have already knew this, but I love CraeVita.
I barely EVER wear ANY jewelry, even my wedding ring.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my bracelet that my hubby had Custom made for me here.
It is simply amazing. Goes with everything, and is stunningly crafted.

If you see me on a pretty regular day, I will more than likely be wearing one of these organic tees. I am ABSOLUTELY addicted to them. I have a million, literally. well, I have one for MORE than everyday of the week, that is for sure. I HIGHLY recommend the Yoga pant, worth every penny. I am rockin those in the very first picture at the top of this blog, you may not have noticed, since I have a pizza on my head. If you are in Michigan, you can get them at It's a Matter of Taste in the carryout... and you can get the best meal eva of course too... The missy pasta definitely qualifies as one of my favorite things as well.

Okay, so those are my FAVORITE things.

Inky Impressions Challenge!

This Card is for the Inky Impressions Challenge. The Challenge was to paper piece! I paper pieced the girl, the dress and the wings! I also made my card kinda 'piecey' as you can see below. I used nesties to make a window in patterned paper and then in my cardstock. I added another piece of cardstock to the inside. My Image is the free digi from Inky Impressions. My sentiment is Paper Makeup Stamps and is mounted on Flowers!

Copic Creations Challenge #10

This is for the Copic Creations Blog Challenge #10. Red, Pink & Hearts!!!
Susana at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design is the sponsor. I picked up this beautiful image from her store. Her customer service is awesome! :)

I color with Copics. I also used smooch paint, shimmerz, quickutz polka dot embossing folder and liquid glass. I paper pieced the wings and butterflies for some added dimension. The sentiment is also on a dimensional.
Here is a closeup- you can look as long as you do not make fun of my coloring! :)

Magnolia DT Sketch for August!

For the August DT Sketch at Magnolia-licious Highlites the sketch was a little out of my comfort zone. There were a lot of layers, and I am a pretty simple kinda girl. I LOVE Becca Feeken's work. It is so beautiful. So I hd to try the sketch.

I did some paper piecing with Tilda. I love to layer in regard! I colored her with copics of course.

Here is a little Thank you Card for my Mother's Friend. I think I will just take a minute to tell you about the friend... not the card!!!
She is Amazing. My Mother's Friend. Her name is Monica.
I live far from my Mother. But I know that Monica will always be there for her. And that Monica will tell her when she is wrong and love her anyway!
I worry a lot about my Mom. She is 'a lot of fun'... hahahha.
I am her conservative daughter. Go figure.
Monica is my Conservative second Mother.
No wonder I like her so much!!!!

Monica is always helping. When my Dad passed... it was a hard time for me... My parents had not really ever been together in my lifetime. So I was alone in a lot of things. My Mom was super awesome and did so much, even though her and my father had not spoken in YEARS. Well, needless to say, my mom arranged a wonderful luncheon for after the burial.
Monica showed up, and PUT ON AN APRON. AN APRON. She was trying to WORK!
How amazing is that.

For my Mom's Birthday this year... Monica arranged secretly for Myself, My husband and my two kids (my Mom's only grandchildren) to come all the way to Michigan for the celebration, and arranged a surprise party for the occasion!
My Mom Cried - I have never seen that really happen before!!! :)
So this is a thank you for all she has done for my Mother.
It means so much knowing that I can not be there for her, that she has a friend that is.

Got carried away...

Blog Candy and an update....

So did I fall off of the face of the Earth? No. I thought about jumping... but could not find the edge. Instead, I had my gallbladder removed!!! And what do you know... I am feeling less like jumping! I am recovering nicely.
However, I have just not had the motivation to craft! Does that mean I have not had my hands on some rubber??? No.
Lucky me (and of course lucky her), but I just so happen to be extra goodie gum drop friends with Katie Cotton over at PaperMakeup.com... and she has TONS of rubber... just needing a friend. Well, it needed a cutting. And I have just been sitting, recovering! So, we met for lunch a few days with the kiddos and I picked up lots of fun rubber to cut.
Today she mentioned I should blog candy some of this rubber! How nice of her!

Update

Hi Friends. I promise I have not kicked the bucket.

I am struggling day to day. But getting by. My weight is down to 94lbs, I am weak and fatigued. My Doctor's for whatever reason, can not seem to get motivated to take this gallbladder out. I go in today for a surgical consult, and I am hoping I am scheduled way sooner than later for removal. I was not keen on the idea at first. But at this point, I would let a monkey operate on me.

Saturday Modern Sugar Challenge

This Saturday, like every Saturday is a Challenge Day at Modern Sugar Blvd. Fun, Fun & More Fun. This Challenge was to make a card for a #10 Envelope... Well, I used the actual envelope to make the card instead. This Card is a Seed holder. The New line of Garden Images at Modern Sugar are just gorgeous. Prismacolor Pencils were used as medium.

A wee little health update. I had my Hida scan and my gallbladder is low functioning... 19%. I am waiting for the Doctor now to refer me to a surgeon. He is slow moving. I am still in pain.

Just a Card today.

I am trying to get all caught up on everything I have been wanting to accomplish! Still no word from the Doctor :( I think he called this morning while I was sleeping. And I am sorry but sleep is crucial. So today is just a card posting kind of day. This is my Modern Sugar Bloggin Momma. Me Update: I had my ultrasound on Thursday. Surprisingly, it hurt. I have a small bruise near my ribs from it, but other than that it was not all that bad. I will not know my results until the beginning of this week. So I am now waiting for the Doctor to call. :(

Well lovelies, Modern Sugar Blvd. is having a Challenge today! Get over there this afternoon and show that challenge who is boss! My Card is really simple. I followed the sketch. I lack motivation.
I have been trying to continue playing with paper this week. It has really helped with all of the doctor's visits and keeping my mind in a positive direction!
The Doctor seems to think there may be something going on with my liver. I have been drained of all the blood in my body! Hahaha. I have massive, literally, bruising on my arms from the lab tests. But I am hopeful.

Well, I had the stomach flu - after pneumonia, yes, it has been my year!
