Back From Vacation....

We are home from Cocoa Beach. We had a spectacular 5 days on the Florida Space Coast. We took JP to see the Kennedy space center and were able to see both shuttles on the launch pad for the first time in 20 years. It was wonderful.

The boys spent a lot of time on the beach... According to JP ... "Surfing the Perfect Wave". He loved the body board, and the big waves. He wiped out a lot, but actually stayed on the board more often than not, and rode the waves all the way to shore. It was a little nerve racking for poor Mom. But Dad was not that far away (too far for me to not worry), and always scooped him up out of the water after a big wipe out! And our little fish is a great swimmer and holds his breath nicely under water, so he was not full of Sea water everyday. Though he did have sand just about everywhere possible!

JP absolutely loved the space center and we spent 2 days there. He made us read all of the exhibit signs, and we made sure to stop by the Hall of fame museum. He loved all of the hands on experiments and movies. It was real fun to watch him enjoy it.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Yesterday was James' Birthday. Tonight we had the Carrot Cake he requested with homemade frosting... also by request! He opened presents and then we ventured to Saskatoon for dinner, where he had the Kangaroo, when we got home, little James wanted the Kangaroo leftovers Bad... he ate a ton! Strange that boy won't touch a hot dog... or a hamburger, but give him some Kangaroo, and he is begging for more. He asked if he could go next time, so he could order Kangaroo!

September Update!

Well, Summer is pretty much over here at the Henahan House! School has resumed, and the baby is well on her way! My C-section is still scheduled for December 1st, until after my sugar test on the 23rd.

We leave for Coco Beach on Wednesday. We are spending almost a week there... hopefully hurricane free! But we need a Vacation!

Yesterday was Big James Birthday, he wanted to have his cake today, and we are going out to dinner tonight! Should be fun. He wants my Grandma's Carrot Cake for his Birthday Cake, so I don't get away with a store bought or box cake! Lucky me.

James number 2 loves his new teacher, and is really excited to have his two BFF's From last year in his class.
Here are some pics from his First Day back... Thanks Grandma for the Extra Large Backpack... he refuses to use the smaller one that is actually his size now!

Just a little Blog for me Today.

Today would have been My Dad's Birthday. 45 or 46 he would have been this year, I lose count. I have to think about how old I am! Anyhoo, unfortunately the 5th is also the day that he died, so it has been one year and one month since I lost my father. I would have called him today to wish him a happy Birthday, even though he missed so many of mine. And I would have wished that this year was the year that he realized how precious life was, and how much his children adored him.

I realized this year, that for a Man who did not love himself, he sure had A LOT of people who really loved him. And if you asked him, he would definitely say he did not deserve it. And when I say really loved him, I mean DEEPLY loved him. So much that it burned. It burned for us all to watch him self-destruct. And even if you had to distance yourself from him because you couldn't watch it, or you just tried to talk to him, and tell him how much you cared, You loved him just the same.

I had always dreamed in that little girl way, that my Daddy would realize one day, how much he had missed. And be that old gray bearded Grandpa with my kids on his knee, my kids adoring him, and never knowing who he had been in a past life... what secrets that gray beard hid. And I would smile on Christmas day to watch who my father had become and be proud of him, the way I knew he had been proud of me so many times before.

I pray everyday that his hell was here on this earth and that the torture he inflicted on himself, was enough punishment for any man to endure, and that in his next life, he is at peace. Without that hope, I could not go on.

Some JustRite For today...

Here are some JustRite Goodies for the Day!

This bug Catcher, My son begged for at the store today. When we got home, he actually ASKED me to put his name on it.... hmmm , you think I have been playing with my JustRite too much! Even my 4 year old is in on the Action! He has caught quite a few bugs already. Mostly ants. It says "James Paul, Bug Catcher" cause that is what he has been chanting all day in a superhero style announcer voice. Here is a simple notebook for Marissa... hopefully she doesn't fill it with Phone numbers or her name with some boys last name 800 million times.

And this is a locker mirror for her. She is in Middle school and the only blonde in the family... so I put Blonde's Have More Fun on it! And Rub-ons for detail.

Tuesday JustRite Entry

This is my challenge Entry for Tuesday! I just love how it turned out. I used the JustRite stamper for the label, and Nestablilities for the matting. I sprayed the whole thing with Sealer for waterproof and ink-proof capabilities! I added some Primas, bling brads and beading for detail.
